Video Splitter / Re: Is there a setting to fix this?
« on: April 11, 2025, 03:31:20 PM »
Hello Cusible,

Thank you for your post.
The using of start and end markers was in the old version 5 of Video Splitter and doesn't available in the latest version 8.

In version 8 of Video Splitter there is the same marker for start/end time positions is used. The segments are set for keeping or deleting with scissors button that arises when you move the cursor to the segment.
So you do not need to decide what marker to use to set the start/stop position of the segment, just put the marker.
Also, the marker (if it set between start and stop of video or audio file) can be both the end marker of the one segment and the start point for the next segment.

You can upgrade to version 8 with discount here:

https://www.solveigmm.com/en/support/upgrade/

Hovewer, "the old markers" logic is still available in Video Splitter Mac.
Note, please that the macOs version of Video Splitter has less features at the present time then the ordinary Windows version.

Hello Dwight,

Thank you for your post.
Could you please send us the original input file that you open in Video Splitter and the project file? You can upload it to any file sharing service, e.g. Google drive (https://drive.google.com) or Dropbox.com.

To get the project file open the input file in Video Splitter, set fragments for saving and deleting then go to File menu -> Save project as and select folder to save the project file.

Here is the guideline on how to upload files if needed.

>>2.Also, did you notice my previous reply mentioning the issue where videos cannot be dragged into the timeline or media library? I included screenshots as well.
Yes, I've noticed this. To fix this issue, please try to reinstall Video Splitter as I've adviced previously.
Will it help you?

3.Can 'cut out selected fragment' only be collapsed and not marked as red?
You can collapse only the "cut out" segments that are always marked with the dark-red color after you press the scissors button to make them to be marked as deleted for output file.
So, unfortunately you can't make the "cut out" segements not be marked with the dark-red color.

Hello waterlo,

Thank you for your post.
The settings that you have specified are not valid for the latest version of Video Splitter.
We will remove them from this list in Tools > Preferences > View. Thank you for noticed this.

If you would like to disable thunbnails or audio waveform appearing on the timeline, please use the buttons of "eyes" on the left size near the video tumbmnails and audio waveform - see the screenshot below.

You will get the following view of the timeline if both thumbnails and waveform will be disabled:

Hello Dwight,

Thank you a lot for files you have uploaded and your time.
The issue with async was reproduced at out end and will be fixed in the near future.
As soon as it will be fixed, we will post the news here.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact, that if the SRT ID:4 subtitle stream editing is disabled in Control / Select streams menu, the issue with async doesn't happen.
So if you do not need this subtitle track in the output file, you can leave it disabled (as it is in your project file).

Thank you for your assistance in this matter!

Video Splitter / Re: Automate edit
« on: January 13, 2025, 07:31:39 PM »
Hello,

Thank you for your post.

You can use altarnative time format types described here:
https://www.solveigmm.com/en/support/doc/video-editing-sdk-for-windows/sdk-batch-file-structure.html#time_format_types

For 100ns you can see that 1 sec = 1*10^7 unit. So you need firstly convert time to seconds and then multiply by 10^7.

You can change timeFormat to time10ms.
It will be possibly more relevant for you, but in this case you need to keep in mind that the last digits are not milliseconds, but tens of ms. This is also written in the description by the above link.

That is, if you need to cut exactly starting from the time of 0.125 sec, then this will not work when using this time10ms format. It will only be possible from 0.12.

Also please note, the editing accuracy that will be with time10ms format is not units of milliseconds, but tens of milliseconds.

Hello AZAndy,

Thank you for your post and please excuse for the delay with reply due to New Year holidays.
This feature to disable mouse cursor effect on the interface is unfortunately not available in Video Splitter.
If/when it will be implemented, we will post the news at this thread.
