Im looking for a software that can cut MKV videos with extreme precision.

Minutes:Seconds:Milliseconds.

It doesn't have to have milliseconds, but the Minutes:Seconds must be precise; most of the time the software i use to cut 30 seconds of a video ends cutting 32 or 31.

I have tried many that claim to be precise, but the results are awful or completely wrong.

SolveigMM AVI Trimmer+MKV: It is not precise. If i choose 00:20:00 the result is 00:21:00 most of the time.

Video Splitter / Trim/join videos while preserving full quality
« on: February 28, 2019, 06:30:49 PM »
I switched to Linux and am looking for software to trim/join videos while preserving full quality (that means no re-encoding, right?). It needs to do it to an accuracy of one or a few frames. From what I've read, sometimes you can't trim to the exact frame without re-encoding and in that instance, it should re-encode only the relevant frames, while preserving the rest of the video's quality.

Dabbler, here. I've been rooting around, trying to sort this out for a while, now...figure if there's an answer, it's likely on reddit. I have some video (1920 x 1080, 320 kbps) recorded via a Logitech C920, that I would like to trim (editing features a bonus) and save in lossless format. VSDC does o.k. with the video, but downsamples the audio to 223 kbps for some reason (waiting to hear back from them on that one) and while SolveigMM Video Splitter does the trick, it's trialware and I currently don't have $50USD in the budget for software. So, I'm searching for freeware - does such a beast exist, or does anyone have any alternate assistance to offer? Oh yeah, running Windows 7, 64-bit, if that helps.
