Video Splitter / Unable to open a file

This is my first time using Video Splitter (v3.0.1204.17) and sadly it won’t even open the first file I wanted to split. The error is: “Source file is not supported or damaged”

I can confirm the file is fine. Plays fine and can be opened in OTHER (and cut) video splitting apps, but I would prefer to use Video Splitter.
