Thank you for your question.
AVI Trimmer +MKV should play both video and audio content of your file. Please check if the Audio checkbox was enabled while the playback as on the screenshot below.

Is this normal?  Or would I need to get the Pro Version to get this.  I seem to recall using an earlier version in which this as not a problem.  (Or maybe I was using a different video editing product.)
