Hello Cusible,

Thank you for your post.
The using of start and end markers was in the old version 5 of Video Splitter and doesn't available in the latest version 8.

In version 8 of Video Splitter there is the same marker for start/end time positions is used. The segments are set for keeping or deleting with scissors button that arises when you move the cursor to the segment.
So you do not need to decide what marker to use to set the start/stop position of the segment, just put the marker.
Also, the marker (if it set between start and stop of video or audio file) can be both the end marker of the one segment and the start point for the next segment.

You can upgrade to version 8 with discount here:

Hovewer, "the old markers" logic is still available in Video Splitter Mac.
Note, please that the macOs version of Video Splitter has less features at the present time then the ordinary Windows version.

I'm noticing a change where I now seem to need to specify beginning and end markers for each clip where in Splitter 5 and below I didn't need to (it used the end of the previous clip as the start of the new marker).  I would like to get this behavior back especially since it won't let me specify an end marker and beginning mark on a new frame which means I have to move the frame one forward before I can save a clip (3 steps in instead of 1).  Is there a setting to fix this? geometry dash 3d
