Please try to use the version available for the download at the following link (Home/Business Edition):

Will the problem remain with it?
If yes, please upload for us this MP4 file for we could check your file and reproduce this issue at our end.
You can use e.g. Google drive or Dropbox.com to upload the file.
Please let us know if you get any messages on the file opening in Video Splitter.
