Video stream in this file has some nonconformity with specification. Some workarounds was done to support it.

Don't you think that file that you are trying to load is too much for this software to handle? Or that would depend on the specs of your computer?

I've opened and edited equally large or bigger mkv files on the same computer, and I'm sure the software isn't limited by size, otherwise it would be terrible software

We can validate mkv file to make sure it matches matroska spec using mkv validator .

Unpack it  Drag and drop media file to validate.bat
Results of validation out.txt should be created.

yeah the file plays fine but doesn't open in editor.  tried mkv validator and all that happened was a quick flicker of a cmd screen and nothing else.  File is here:

Hi, other avc mkv files are fine, and this still happens with 3.0 beta -- maybe there's just some sort of problem with the file -- it runs fine on a video player, but I also tried to open it in a different video editor which supports mkv and apparently it couldn't read the file -- so maybe there's something infernally wrong with the file that makes it viewable but uneditable.

Could you please specify what Video Splitter version do you use? You can check it in the Help -> About SolveigMM Video Splitter menu.

I've tried on this and have not noticed any problems.

If you use another version you can download the latest from the website:

If this will not help could you please send us the information from the Media Info about your file?
To get it right mouse click on your file and choose "MediaInfo", then in the opened window click on the "Save to the text file".

Open your file in the Video Splitter after the second step of this instruction.

I'm trying to edit a 12G 1080p mkv file and when I try to load it into Video Splitter the program freezes for about 5 mins, then I get a couple of runtime error popups from smmvsplitter.exe and the program crashes.
