Hello  hnrene,
We are currently implementing an AVI frame-accurate trimming. Once it would be implemented, a Windows Media files trimming should be added soon. I suppose, the feature would be added in a couple of weeks.

Liked your program , but it has a major flaw. It cannot get the frame accuracy with wmv files. You can wake me up when you fied it. I will not pay for this shortcoming. Really, how much time will you need to understand the importance of this flaw ?

Dear Dmitry,

Sorry, I didn't notice that Jake already posed this question just some days ago.

However, I do hope that you will give it some priority, since WMV is a very common format, and there are no good editors around for it.

For MPEG editing, on the other hand, there are heaps of other products, notably the Womble MPEG Video Wizard DVD, which costs almost the same as the Solveig Splitter, but is much more powerful.

But if you could handle WMV-clips really well, I think lots of people would buy Solveig just for this feature, me for one.

Best regards,

Hello Kim,

Thank you for your question.

Really, from time to time our feature development priorities are changed. Now, we are preparing AVCHD frame accuracy editing.
Unfortunately WMV frame accurate splitting is no ready at the moment. Current forecast for that feature is 3-4 months.

Dear Dmitry,

In April I asked when it will be possible to edit WMV-files with frame accuracy (which is currently implemented only for MPEG-2). You then answered that you hoped it would be done within the next 3 months (release in July/August).

How are things going? It seems that the updates for the last 4 months have mostly been fixes. Do you have a new estimate for WMV frame-accurate editing?

Best regards,
